Christmas is all about Santa, snow, and science….?! That’s right! Without science, some of our favourite Christmassy things would not be possible! Join us on our festive journey as we explore the science behind Christmas and use some Christmassy things to demonstrate a little festive magic. Inspired by Maddie Moate’s brand new book of the same name, our Enablers will perform some super cool experiments in our very special Christmas science show ‘A Very Curious Christmas’!
Make Your Own LED Light Up Christmas Cards!
2/3 December; 16/17 December; 21 December – 7 January
Book your timeslot on arrival: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
Wow your friends and family with your own handmade Christmas cards that will light up the mantelpiece! Position your LED bulb to be Rudolph’s nose, or the star on top of your Christmas tree design, or get creative with your own unique design in this hands-on, drop-in activity.
After Christmas, why not make a light-up Happy New Year card, or a thank you card?
Magical Story Jars

A flying bed has been spotted zooming through an underwater tunnel located deep down beneath the river Mersey and word has it that it’s heading for Eureka! Science + Discovery…
If going on fun filled adventures with magical beds that sprout wings and meeting characters such as Mr Windy the teacher who couldn’t stop trumping and Rodney the very shy robot sounds like fun to you and your kids, then look no further! The Chief Story Makers from Magical Story Jars will be visiting Eureka! Science + Discovery to help the entire family mix the most magical stories in the world!
This drop-in activity will inspire big and small kids alike to have fun playing with ideas and creating their own stories. Visit our Story Mixing Station which ignites imaginations by providing a choice of character, setting and plot story cards from Magical Story Jars along with a treasure trove of intriguing objects to help your kids to write their very own short stories and create book covers and comics using our beautifully illustrated story cards. All Story Makers will get to sprinkle their creations with magic dust and take them home.
